Obviously the NHL has to do something about the head injuries that are happening. Many former hockey players now have brain problems or they die early from the amount of concussions suffered. I was surprised when I heard that 10 out of 30 NHL GM's don't want to do anything about all the head hits. In my opinion the NHL should give out a 10 game supsension for ANY type of head hit. A 20 game suspension for a blindside hit to the head. And for a repeat offender, like Matt Cooke, an extra ten games, then the whole season. I think that the main reason the NHL GM's don't want things to change is because the don't want their star players to get suspended, but I look at a Sidney Crosby scenario and think it's much worse. Would you rather your star player out 10-20 games, or to not know when they are coming back. And the NHL said that they would do something about the blindside hit. How is a 3 games suspension to a 4th line player going to change the way he does something?
